Executive Committee

President – Jake Bransgrove

Originally from New Zealand, Jake is a third-year PhD candidate in Modern British History whose days consist mainly of emails and meetings. When dragged away from his desk, he collects art, ceramics, and books, and occasionally finds time to indulge in his passion for architecture.

Vice President – Emily Shaw

A third year PhD student in Material Science (or was it Chemistry), Emily is here to help the whole committee. When not rowing, dancing, cycling or running, she can be found nattering in the Aula, and actively avoiding doing her lab-work.

Treasurer – Soham Kar

Secretary – Benjamin Iago Gibson

The president and VP represent the policies, decisions and interests of the MCR, on behalf of the MCR committee and members. This includes chairing MCR committee meetings, and sitting on a wide range of college committees. If you have any issues or questions, and aren’t sure who to contact, the Pres/VP are your best port of call

The treasurer controls the finances of the MCR and reviewing the budget.  If you are interested in running an event or society, contact the treasurer.

The secretary records the truly delightful minutes. If you have anything you want brought up at a committee or college meeting, contact the secretary.

External ents are represented primarily by our swaps, where the MCR attend a formal dinner at another college.

Our internal ents officers organise all our in-house events – from superhalls to bops and quizes, they really do do everything. They also run the sub-committee that arranges the end-of-year MCR garden party.
